Mission Statement
School Ethos and Aims
At Burnley Road Junior, Infant and Nursery School we endeavour to equip every pupil
with the skills, knowledge and attitudes appropriate for life and the world of work. We
seek to achieve this by:
Providing the pupils with high quality teaching and a broad and balanced curriculum
which meets their needs.
Promoting a sense of self-esteem, self-confidence and self-motivation in all members of the school community within a secure, friendly and stimulating environment.
Encouraging everyone to aim high and to achieve their full potential in all areas.
Encouraging and developing a sense of equality, mutual respect, consideration and awareness of the needs of others within school and the wider environment.
Valuing and respecting all members of the school community, adult and children, as individuals and for the contribution that they make to school life.
We try to include our pupils as much as possible in the decisions about school life. We
have an active School Council with all classes having representatives who discuss issues from playtime equipment to what to include in our behaviour policy.
Each class holds regular Class councils which feed all the views of all our pupils’ into the School Council.
Parents are always welcome to visit school should they have any problems or concerns
about their child’s education . However, please contact the school so that a convenient
appointment can be made to see either your child’s teacher or the Headteacher.
